Planning for Healthy Babies is a program by the Georgia Department of Community Health that provides no cost family planning services to eligible women in Georgia. Low birth weight rates have been growing over the years. Planning for Healthy Babies is a statewide program to lower the rate of low weight births by offering birth control, vitamins & folic acid, counseling and referrals to health care services/providers to those that are eligible.
If You:
- Are female between the ages of 18 and 44
- Meet the family income limits
- Are uninsured
- Have delivered a very low birth weight (less than 3lbs, 5oz) baby since January 1, 2011
You may be eligible for FREE:
- Family Planning Services
- Annual Physical Exams
- Family Planning Counseling
What’s covered?
- Annual physical exams including pap smears
- Contraceptives and multivitamins with folic acid
- Family planning counseling
- Services including primary care and dental services, substance abuse treatment, and more
