Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital
International Board Certified Lactation Consultants are available to our patients to support breast-feeding. Breast-Feeding Basics classes are held regularly to help mothers learn successful breast-feeding techniques for the early weeks following birth.

Should you choose to breastfeed, SSM Maternity Care offers breastfeeding classes before birth and a lactation specialist will visit you during your hospital stay to answer your breastfeeding questions and help you feed your baby. Our specialists are also available to schedule a follow-up appointment with you if you would like ongoing breastfeeding assistance.

For moms who choose to breastfeed, we offer a wealth of resources and support. Our onsite Lactation Center is staffed by certified lactation consultants to assist moms and babies while in the hospital, and even after you've gone home.
