Families Are First Maternity Unit

The birthing facility at Bristol Hospital is built on the single-room maternity care model. This means that when expectant mothers have their babies at the hospital, they stay in one place throughout their visit. Labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum all take place in the same cozy private suite.

Pediatric Care

Bristol Hospital is one of the only community hospitals in Connecticut to offer a 24 hour / 7 day a week Pediatric Hospital program for children. The Pediatric Hospitalists Program comprised of physicians who care for children in all areas of the hospital. They are present for all births and provide newborn care in our Families Are First unit. They also provide inpatient care for children of any age. Our pediatric hospitalists are all Fellows of the Academy of Pediatrics and are trained in neonatal resuscitation and advanced pediatric life support.
