The Global Yoga Center office is located in the heart of Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood with drop in classes held at Soulistic Studio and Spa (see below). Yoga Teacher Trainings are located at Self Centered Yoga Studio (2201 W. Belmont Ave, Chicogo (773-719-6227). All classes are available as group classes or private lessons.

Prenatal Classes and Workshops

• Prenatal Hatha Yoga classes: All classes are drop in, all levels welcome.
• Mom and Baby Yoga classes: Mom or Dad and baby or toddler welcome. Prenatal women are welcome as well.
• Couples class for labor and comfort positions: Held once per month. Includes:
  • Breathing exercises
  • Comfort positions and techniques with the birth ball,
  • Coaching techniques
  • Relaxation
  • Basic labor yoga poses
  • Pushing positions.
• Doula Services: Private Consultations
• Childbirth Education Classes: Private Sessions or small group classes
• Hatha Yoga for Fertility: Private Sessions

*Other Areas of Teaching Focus: Corporate Classes, Therapeutic Yoga and Yoga for
Special Needs.

Teacher Trainings (Become a Yoga Teacher)

Course 1: Hatha Yoga Teacher Training

200 hours Yoga Alliance Registered School. Your choice of Friday, Saturday or Sunday
training classes. 1 day per week for 9 months. Course outline includes: techniques,
teaching methods, anatomy and physiology, philosophy and ethics, practicum and
electives.

Course 2: Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training for Teachers Only

Intensive 2-Day Training Workshop on Friday 12:30pm-5:30pm and Saturday 1pm-6pm, OR Saturday 1pm-6pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.10 hours total. Includes designing a prenatal class, integrating pregnant women into mainstream classes, pose modification/ props, anatomy and physiology, pregnancy flow, sequencing and teaching methods. Held several times per year.

All of Soulistic Studio and Spa’s pre and postnatal fitness and spa staff members have undergone specialized training in their areas of expertise to address the physical/hormonal changes women experience during and post pregnancy.  They are dedicated to addressing each client’s individual questions and concerns, and often work collaboratively with one another to research and resolve client requests.

Expecting Couples Labor & Delivery, Expecting Couples Massage and Infant Massage workshops are offered on monthly basis.  Soulistic also offers a series of Childhood Education classes with varying topics, including: Childbirth Options, Prenatal, Postpartum & Infant Nutrition, Pelvic Floor Health and Breastfeeding Basics.  Check the Workshops page of Soulistic’s website, www.soulistic.com/workshops.html, for a complete listing of upcoming workshops.

Soulistic is an earth-friendly facility that uses certified-organic products exclusively in their spa services and locker room facilities, and chemical-free janitorial and laundry products. Every effort was made during the build out of their space to utilize earth-friendly products and processes, including the use of VOC free paints, Energy Star-rated appliances, and natural, low-energy lighting.  The 4,500 square foot facility features an abundance of natural light and impressive views of Chicago’s downtown skyline.
