Our goal at Lactation Services of Southington is to provide every new mother and baby the necessary support and education to have a successful breastfeeding experience.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
Recommended for all mothers to gain knowledge about breastfeeding and how making milk works, strategies for success.
Lactation Consult
Recommended for mothers experiencing sore nipples, mastitis, difficulty with latch, plugged ducts, returning back to work, concerns regarding infant weight gain, premature birth, transitioning home from the NICU.
Consult includes gathering history, assessment of mother and baby, observing feed, weight with a Medela Baby Weigh Scale, developing a plan of care, communication with mother and baby’s health care providers, and follow-up as appropriate.
Breast Pump Rental Station

Introduction to Breastfeeding Class
If you are pregnant and planning on breastfeeding then this class is for you! It will give you information to help you get off to a great start, know where to find help, and learn how and when to use a breast pump. Fee is $40. Working and Breastfeeding Class

Milk Mates Breast Feeding Support Group
Mother to mother support in a group setting. We meet monthly at Mulberry Gardens at 58 Mulberry St., Southington, CT 06489 in the lower level. Meeting is free of charge and infants and toddlers are welcome.
