Tips on Preserving the Memories
With all the excitement over babys arrival, you can quickly forget the joy of pregnancy. Capture the moment with some of these helpful suggestions.
Send a birthday card to your baby. Drop it in the mail a day or two before your estimated due date. You just may get lucky and receive it “on time”.
Write a letter to your unborn child to be kept and read at some future special event, such as high school graduate or bridal shower. Include your thoughts about your pregnancy, your birth experience, expectations, etc.
Sign up for a prenatal fitness class or new moms group to meet other moms in your neighborhood. It won’t be long before you will all be reminiscing about your pregnancies!
Many parents want to save the measuring tape from baby’s first exam. But why not save a tape measuring your growing belly? It can be saved alongside of baby’s tape, or used as encouragement if you need to shed a few pounds after birth.
Keep a journal. It is therapeutic and may remind you of questions to ask your health care provider that you might otherwise forget!
Collect photos and keepsakes in a “Mommy Album”. It is a fun way to record your nine months of pregnancy, and an easy way to start scrapbooking if you don’t already. A Pregnancy Scrapbook can be a great teaching tool when your little one some day asks, “Where do babies come from?”
Some professional photographers specialize in pregnancy photography and can provide you with a beautiful keepsake that you can enjoy forever.
Today’s expectant parents do not hear “What’s that?” as often when sharing baby’s ultrasound images thanks to 3D/4D ultrasound. You will be amazed at the
images you will receive!
Not feeling very photogenic? A little pampering might do the trick! Hit the salon for a makeover or try prenatal massage. Invite Grandma-to-be and share the experience.
Arrange to have a belly cast made. Hire a professional to design a true work of art, or pick up a kit at a local baby store. It’s unique, it’s permanent, and it’s art!
Enjoy your pregnancy! Remember - it won't last forever.
