3D/4D Ultrasound
Turn Your Pregnancy into a Precious Keepsake!
The goal of a 3D Ultrasound studio is to provide the personal aspect that is missing in the medical field. The reason for that "rushed" feeling is that the sonographer needs to concentrate on your ultrasound since they are searching for abnormalities, having to make accurate measurements and also having time restraints due to double bookings and emergencies.
A 3D/4D studio should be inviting and comfortable. Most studios encourage all new moms and dads to bring in their family and friends. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see your unborn child wave, kick and smile at you. You should leave with a truly unique and satisfied experience that you will never forget! An ultrasound room should comfortably seat an entire family. Choose a facility that uses state of the art ultrasound technology that produces high resolution images in great detail of your baby in full color 3D/4D while viewing your ultrasound on a large screen TV. A large screen TV brings your baby's images to life for mom and family members. A 3D/4D ultrasound studio also makes it more special to accommodate appointments morning to afterhours, evenings and weekends; flexibility is key to better serving clients. Having baby gifts and a mom and baby boutique is always a nice addition to a 3D/4D studio. Remember when choosing a 3D/4D ultrasound studio: quality state of the art equipment, professionalism and customer service are key.
Frequently Asked Questions About 3D/4D Ultrasound
What are 2D, 3D and 4D Ultrasounds?
A transducer (camera) used with water-based gel gives off sound waves that enter the body and bounce back into the machine to create a picture. 2D is a 2-dimensional black and white image. (Standard medical ultrasound image) 3D is a 3-dimensional image that has different color hues that give a lifelike picture allowing you to see what your unborn baby will actually look like and 4D is simply 3D with motion. You will be able to experience movements like kicking, yawning or even waving in real time!
Is ultrasound safe?
Yes, ultrasound has been performed for years, with no adverse effects established. Ultrasound will cause no harm to you or your baby.
When is the best time to schedule my ultrasound?
Twenty-eight to thirty-two weeks is your prime-viewing window.
How should I prepare for my ultrasound?
Drink lots of water the day before and the day of your exam. Hydration can increase the amniotic fluid and improve the clarity of your ultrasound. You do not need to have a full bladder. Comfort is key. It is recommended to wear a comfortable two-piece outfit to have better belly access.
What should I expect from my viewing?
This is for your enjoyment and bonding time with your baby. The session will provide you with wonderful and unique keepsake memories in photo and video footage. A photo CD is for personal viewing and to email family and friends. Most DVDs are 15-20 minutes of Four-Dimensional movement of your baby and a joy to share! You should see lots of activity including touching of the face, waving, thumb sucking, swallowing the amniotic fluid, legs kicking, and the list goes on. It all depends on the baby. If your baby cooperates gender can also be determined upon request.
Will I get a beautiful picture of my baby?
Yes; however there are factors that can interfere. Some of these factors are: position of baby, placental location, amount of amniotic fluid and mother's body density.
