  Prepared Childbirth Class

($179.00/ $161.10 per couple;includes class materials—a comprehensive childbirth education handbook, and a PDF file of class handouts) This comprehensive childbirth class covers all aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum including: the anatomy and physiology of late pregnancy, the labor and birth process, signs and stages of labor, options for coping and pain management, common complications and promoting positive communication with your care-giver. We will help prepare you for all aspects of birth from knowing when to leave for the hospital or birth center to taking care of yourself after birth. This class provides some information on natural coping methods such as relaxation, breathing and massage, as well as information about pain medication and epidural anesthesia.   Flu Clinic
19 Muzzey Street, Lexington, MA 02421
(Payment: Flu shots are covered for children ages 6 months to 5 years, and those with certain medical problems. If your child is a member of a high risk group, insurance will likely cover the cost of the flu vaccine. For all other patients who would like the shot, the cost is $35.75 for the injection, and $40.75 for the nasal mist vaccine. Please bring your insurance card to the flu clinic.)
As of 06 October 2009, Lexington Pediatrics is able to offer the seasonal flu vaccines to the following age groups:
  • Children ages 6mo through 2 yrs can get the preservative-free flu shot.
  • Children ages 3yr through 11yrs and have asthma or a chronic illness can receive the flu shot.
  • Children 2 years and older who are healthy, who have not wheezed in the last year, do not have an egg allergy, and who do not have asthma can receive the Flu Mist.
We have received a small allocation of the H1N1 Flu Mist. The H1N1 Flu Mist will be offered to the following patients:
  • Healthy children age 2-9yrs who do not have asthma, have not wheezed in the last year, have not received the MMR, the chickenpox vaccine or the seasonal FluMist in the last 4 weeks or have not been on steroids in the last 6 weeks.
  • Healthy children age 2yrs or older who are living with an infant less than 6 months old.
  • Healthy children age 2 yrs or older who are living with a pregnant woman who is in her third trimester.
During the flu season, Lexington Pediatrics offers several walk-in flu clinics for your convenience. No appointment necessary. These clinics are for Lexington Pediatrics patients only.
After you arrive and check-in at the desk,we will discuss your eligibility with you and the different vaccine options that are available.

NOTE: any child under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in order to receive a vaccine.

We will help you choose an obstetrician/nurse midwife and prepare you for what to expect during your prenatal visits including prenatal testing and procedures. We will discuss prenatal health and nutritional needs including diet, weight management, heartburn, nausea, vomiting and constipation. We will also cover sexuality and bedrest during pregnancy. In this free workshop she will go through all of the cloth diapering options as well as laundering tips and caring for your diapers.
