Even before your baby is born Norwalk Hospital’s commitment to you begins. When it’s time for your new arrival our birthing staff will provide support for a memorable childbirth experience for you and your family in our completely redesigned childbirth center. With more than 20 board certified obstetricians and midwives, perinatology services, and a Level 3a Newborn Intensive Care Unit, the Childbirth Center at Norwalk Hospital is fully equipped to provide the finest birthing experience in the Fairfield County area. They are assisted by a highly skilled and caring group of Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Technicians. Board-certified Neonatologists are available 24 hours a day, if needed, to care for premature or sick babies in our state-of-the art Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Our obstetrical program is highlighted by a modern, home-like Childbirth Center located at the Hospital. The center features in-suite amenities, including beautiful single rooms with private baths and showers, massage therapy for infants and mothers, wireless Internet access and flat-screen televisions. We provide comprehensive education programs for expectant couples and ongoing programs and support groups after the birth of your baby.
Childbirth Center – Education Programs
The Norwalk Hospital Childbirth Center offers varied programs to respond to the educational needs of expectant and new mothers, fathers, grandparents, children and siblings; before, during and after admission to our hospital. We offer a wide array of programs for expecting parents – from Beginnings (Early Pregnancy) program to Prepared Childbirth Classes, to Newborn Care Classes, all taught by certified and knowledgeable instructors, as well as Tours of the Center.
