We offer telephone support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and maintain ample weekend and holiday urgent care hours at several of our locations. And when urgent situations arise after regular hours, our medical staff are available to speak with you by phone with backup from on-call pediatricians. Our electronic medical record system ensures our medical staff have easy access to your child's records and history whenever you visit or call the office.

Care for Mother and Baby

Nurse Midwifery Program
The Nurse Midwifery Program at Harvard Vanguard offers comprehensive pre- and postnatal care, ongoing health education and routine gynecological services in collaboration with your obstetrician. Our midwives are registered nurses with advanced degrees and training who are certified nationally and licensed to practice in Massachusetts and attend births at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Lowell General Hospital.
Our care is focused on your unique physical, social and emotional needs. We offer women a variety of options for pain relief, including hands-on relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, pain medication or epidural anesthesia. Our philosophy encourages women to trust their bodies as they do this miraculous work. During labor, nurse midwives are there to offer support to women with a personalized approach. Think of it as having your own personal birth coach with you in the delivery room. And if medical interventions are indicated, our physicians are readily available.
