How does Ivy's Diaper Service work?
Cloth diapers have never been easier. Our service is simple. You simply leave your bag of dirty diapers outside your front door once a week and we come by and replace them with clean, soft, sanitized diapers. That's it! You don't even need to be home.
Each week we will drop off the clean diapers in a pail liner. In order to get started just unpack the clean diapers from the pail liner and use the pail liner to hold the dirties. No need to soak, rinse, or wash the dirty diapers if the poop isn't solid yet, just chuck them in the bag and forget about them until delivery day! If the poop is solid (after solid food has been introduced) just flip the poop into the toilet and put the dirty diaper in the pail liner as usual.
How many diapers do I need?
Generally we recommend 70 diapers per week for the average newborn. 60 is usually enough for 6-12 month olds and 50 is standard for toddler age. Here's how your diaper rotation works:
Week 1: We drop off 70 diapers
Week 2: We drop off 70 diapers, we pick up 65 dirty diapers
Week 3: We drop off 65 diapers, we pick up 68 dirty diapers
Week 4: We drop off 68 diapers, we pick up 62 dirty diapers
Etc., etc., etc.…
You will never be without plenty of fresh, clean diapers!
How do I get started?
We will figure out a day to come out to your house for an orientation appointment. While we're there we will drop off your first rotation of diapers in a waterproof diaper pail liner and also give you 3 free Snappis for your use. Snappis are the modern version of a diaper pin. We will stay for as long as necessary and give you a hands-on tutorial on how to use cloth diapers and answer any and all questions you may have. At that time we will also collect payment for the first and last month's service and payment for any start-up packages or a la carte accessories you may have ordered. If your child has already arrived, you may begin using the diapers immediately and pick-up/drop-off will begin immediately on your designated delivery day. If you are pregnant or welcoming a new child into your home please call us 3-4 weeks before your due date and we will set up a time for your orientation appointment. After your appointment hang on to your diapers until your child is born and then beginning using them normally. Give us a call and we will begin drop-off/pick-up on your designated delivery day.
What is your service area?
We deliver 30 miles in all directions from downtown Charlotte. That covers the entire Charlotte metropolitan area. If you live beyond that you may still be able to use our service with a small additional fuel surcharge. Give us a call and we'll chat!
How do I pay for my service?
You have a number of options for payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, personal checks, and we can also arrange for automatic payment every month. When we drop off your first delivery of diapers we will collect the first and last months payment. This is a down payment for rental of our diapers.
