MothersCare Doula Services, LLC is a full-service labor and postpartum doula agency. MothersCare has been serving Connecticut families since 1993. We provide the highest quality labor and postpartum doulas.

Our labor doulas are fully trained in all aspects of labor as well as comfort techniques to fully support a laboring couple to have a positive birth experience. MothersCare doulas are initially trained through DONA (Doulas of North America) whose organization was part of the original labor doula movement. Their experience and respect in the hospital setting has earned MothersCare the privilege of being referred by hospitals and doctors throughout Connecticut. Our doulas will meet you in advance of your labor to find out the unique needs and desires of you and your partner for your birth. When you begin labor, your doula can come to you at home to assist you and your partner during the early stage of labor, or she can meet you directly at the hospital. She will stay with you for the entire labor whether it be a two hour or two day birth, help you get settled after the birth in your postpartum room, and get you off to a good start with breastfeeding (if that is your desire!). Our labor doulas can provide birth photography as well. Our doulas will take notes during your birth and visit you after you get home to provide written memories of this life-changing event.

Our postpartum doulas are all nurturing, intelligent women who have been fully trained by professionals in the field of postpartum care. They are up-to-date on the current thinking of the care and needs of a newborn, postpartum mother and siblings. Our doulas are able to answer questions and guide a new mom on baby care, breastfeeding and sibling issues. In addition to practical information, our doulas will support a mom with the physical needs of her family which includes laundry for the whole family, vacuuming, everyday straightening up, shopping, meal preparation and the entertaining of older children.

All of MothersCare doulas are fully screened, insured and CPR/First Aid certified. We pride ourselves in not just placing warm bodies, but in staffing the highest quality of women to support our moms. We only hire doulas that we would trust to care for our own families.

Our reputation has earned us the trust of one of Connecticuts leading HMO's, ConnectiCare. We are proud to say that Connecticare entrusts MothersCare to care for their high-risk moms on prenatal bedrest, providing the above services. They also utilize our service for moms who choose to leave one day early from the hospital after birth. ConnectiCare gives those moms 4 days of our service, 4 hours/day.

We also offer such unique services such as: on-call labor babysitting and overnight baby care. MothersCare has on staff a licensed massage therapist who provides in-home pregnancy and postpartum massage.
