The Safe Kids St. Louis Coalition is a member of Safe Kids USA and Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 14 and under. In the United States, Safe Kids has contributed to a 45 percent reduction in the child fatality rate from accidental injury over its 20 years, saving more than 38,000 children's lives.  We’ve distributed more than 2.5 million bike helmets and 250,000 smoke alarms and checked more than 740,000 car seats.

Safe Kids St. Louis works to provide injury prevention for children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Jefferson County, Franklin County, and Washington County. We collaborate with many agencies to make sure that children in our area are safe by providing FREE car seat inspections, bike helmet fittings and education about child safety at home and in the car.

It’s estimated that about 73 percent of child restraints are not installed or used correctly. Make sure your rear-facing or front-facing car seats, booster seats, and safety belts are installed properly! We offer monthly scheduled FREE car seat safety checks throughout the St. Louis area. Our safety technicians teach families how to correctly transport their children and help make sure everyone in a vehicle is buckled up on every ride.
