The J's Early Childhood Center mission, in partnership with our families, is to provide quality care and education that embraces the development of children's mind, body, and soul. We stimulate the minds of young children through an innovative and individualized curriculum implemented by a well-trained staff in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. Music education and science are just a small part of the daily experiences your child will receive. Your child's body will develop and grow at its own pace but it's the nurturing and attention to adopt a healthy lifestyle, personal hygiene and play habits that differentiates the J's program from the others in St. Louis. Physical education programming utilizes the best of the J's resources in fitness, recreation, and aquatics.  The soul is nurtured through living Jewish values and experiences in an environment that appreciates and respects the diversity of the children and their families participating in our program.

Inside the Infant Rooms

Your baby has a special place at the J with a personal crib and cubby along with age-appropriate toys, games, books and music. We provide a rich sensory landscape with soft spaces, low surfaces and colorful objects for safe and stimulating exploration. Each room includes a rocking chair to create a nurturing place for gentle interactions and a soothing area for bottle-feeding. We also take frequent outdoor walks so your baby can enjoy the natural world with all of his or her senses.

We are always attuned to your infant’s needs; holding, feeding, changing, cuddling, playing or talking with your baby – every minute of the day. Our infant teachers truly enjoy babies, and have the knowledge and experience to give your infant the attention he or she needs. We will also give you daily reports about your baby’s day, and we welcome your involvement as well as your insights on how we can best work together.
