At Yoga Child, we understand that pregnancy is a time of wonder; accompanied by great change and growth on physical, spiritual and emotional levels. Our programs are designed to help you flow through these changes in a supported setting, while preparing your body and soul for a holistic birth experience. The passage into motherhood is a life changing experience that is unique to every woman who makes the journey. Recognizing this, we offer a variety of yoga and wellness programs, as well as birth preparation classes designed to follow your physical and emotional needs into motherhood.
Yoga Child provides a nurturing environment in which you can connect with other pregnant women while enjoying the many physical and emotional benefits of prenatal yoga. Classes are designed to help you move through the evolutionary fluctuations of pregnancy, while also helping to ease common discomforts and prepare you and your body for your birth experience.Pre-registration is not required. Simply show up to your class of choice and purchase a prenatal class card. Yoga Child welcomes you to join our prenatal yoga classes at any time during your pregnancy.
This hands-on class will help educate and empower couples as they prepare for labor. It will provide birth partners with useful applications to support the physical & emotional needs of mothers as they experience the birth process. You can enjoy partner yoga to ease discomfort during late pregnancy & labor, massage techniques to relax & soothe, ways to communicate needs & feelings during birth, guided breath work, relaxation techniques and so much more.
This yoga class is for you to attend with your new baby once you have had your postpartum check-up and until your baby is actively crawling. Your baby will share your yoga mat and share your joy as we spend our time together engaging in a blend of rhythmic, restorative and energizing yoga.
The intention of our program is to create a supportive space for you and your partner to explore your feelings & questions about pregnancy and birth so that you are better able to make decisions that are right for you and to move through your birth with awareness and confidence. Childbirth preparation is not just about receiving knowledge, but involves peeling off the cultural layers of fear and doubt while reconnecting to the inherent wisdom of women’s bodies and cultivating trust in the birth process. This program is designed to help prepare you and your partner, body and mind, for the transformative experience of giving birth to your baby, as well as to yourselves as parents.
Through dialogue and discussion with instructors, you will come to have a greater understanding of the biology of birth, the pleasure pain cycle of hormones, nutrition in pregnancy & the informed uses of medication and technology. Enjoy a practical understanding of what happens in your body during birth & learn specific techniques to help you normalize pain and move through contractions. Partners can enjoy a “partner only” question and answer insight session with other partners who have made the journey. Deepen your trust in your relationship and in your own body! Ob/Midwife release required.
An informative and experiential opportunity for couples seeking a one-day birth preparation course. Join us for an afternoon of hands-on learning to prepare for the amazing birth of your baby! Whether this is your first birth or your fourth, there is valuable information to be learned and enjoyed. You will practice hands on doula “tricks of trade,” explore comfort measures for labor and birth, learn core principles for a better birth and enjoy guided relaxations with your partner. Ask a lot of questions and have a lot of fun!
In this 3-week series, you will learn all about infant massage by practicing with your baby. Enjoy all the benefits including bonding, improved sleep, reduced fussiness and colic, alleviation of gas and constipation, relaxation, and many more. The physiological and emotional benefits extend way beyond infancy. Each class will build upon the previous one as participants learn the skills needed to massage from the head to the toes!
A one of a kind preparatory course for expectant mothers and new mothers alike. Partners are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Learn breastfeeding 101 and the basics for a good foundation; discover common myths, misinformation and avoid pitfalls; review holistic solutions to common problems and learn how mindfulness and mediation can enhance your nursing relationship!
